african scream contest’ is the third release by the analog africa label. the project initially took off in august 2005 when label owner and vinyl collector samy ben redjeb arrived in cotonou, benin, “without any special expectations, just hoping to lay my hands on few good records - what i found in the process cannot really be described in words-. this first trip was followed by eight more to the region. thirty months and few thousand records later analog africa proudly presents this 14-track compilation. redjeb conducted 16 interviews in various cities in benin and togo with artists, producers and sound engineers to reconstruct the history of the 70s music scene for the 44 pages booklet which also features many rare photographs directly received from the artists. delve into the forgotten raw and psychedelic afro sounds from 70s benin and togo and experience the african scream contest. very, very limited copies in, and this might notcome in anymore.... tip!

san fran-based artist, tape_hiss releases his second ep on love notes and you can clearly hear both his sound and the label s maturing in tandem. moving on from the depth of his first record, love is a dog from hell, tape_hiss takes things into headier waters, going heavy on the acid and the rugged basslines on this 4 track ep. angelian war storm begins in exactly that fashion, with 303s squelching and bassbins rattling. this continues through the clear standout trackout, the vivian girls. the gears shift a bit on the b1 where sistrum boss, patrice scott is allowed to rework the vivian girls and does so in a warbly, dirty jazz fashion. tape_hiss then closes things out with the title track, realms of the unreal, which uses an appropriate sample annoucing, “this is me, yo. right here”, and it does very much sound to us like this budding artist is annoucing himself to the world in a most proper fashion. we can’t wait to hear what comes next from both artist and label.

mystery, poetry, a play of masks: artistic creation according to john cravache. his collaboration with versatile dates back to the beginning of the millennium. a childhood friend of i:cube, he is 44 years old, lives in a paris suburb, and is not a professional artist. getting involved in writing, he has been boasting his artistic and economic independence and his crafty attitude outside of the industrial system. he gave himself time to invent a personal world, wild and funny, which eventually gave birth to the album -cités nomades-. even though his influences are quite varied and avant-garde (magma, captain beefheart, tom waits), they did not really affect this unclassifiable project. poetry and mystery come before all, because john cravache is appearing masked. john cravache and nicolas chaix (i:cube) have recorded radio creations since the early 90s, in particular for chimère fm in paris, as well as numerous long improvised music sessions. at the approach of the millennium, they embarked on the creation of an album that was not completed until sixteen (!) years later. john is a poet, accomplished pianist, and registered truck driver and nicolas, a self-taught musician, have both made the realisation of -cités nomades- possible. this is not an ironic pop album, this album is simply all you want. listening will do you much good

welcome to fourth vinyl release on kickmasomaass records. this record called psychical disorder ep is a great four-tracker for all hardgroove techno fans. it contains one original mix and three winner remixes from psychical disorder remix contest. andy bsk has this time created one great psychedelic hardgroove track with great bassline and heavy kicks. the percussions with the psychedelic melody synths runs into delirium in every hardgroove head. the second remix is from lorenz b who is living in italy. his hardgroove techno remix with hardtrance elements is simply perfect. great bass, great kicks, great percussions. definitely one great track for every club and party. third track is coming to us from spain from two guys called jcortes and eloy palma. their remix is heavy and dark. brutal kicks with dark percussions will destroy every club. the last and fourth remix is from slovakian music producer buchtotronic. nice fast hardgroove track with oldskool hardcore and tekno elements will destroy every tekno party. definitely one of best remixes in psychical disorder remix contest. we made it one more time and bringing you a great record. so don t wait any longer and support our label with purchase of your own piece. enjoy!
